Artemis II's crewed lunar flyby succeeded in April 2026, and NASA's May 2026 replan made the dependency chain explicit: Artemis III is now an Earth-orbit docking demonstration, the crewed landing has moved to Artemis IV in late 2028 — and everything routes through Starship HLS proving it can land uncrewed on the lunar surface, officially targeted for mid-2027. The gate is refueling: the ship-to-ship propellant transfer demonstration, prerequisite to any Moon shot, had still not flown at sealing despite a June 2026 target. SpaceX schedules historically run 1.5-2x their announcements, so a mid-2027 target with an unflown prerequisite prices below one-in-three by end-2027. Sealed low, like CAL-09 before it — the base case says NOT YET.
